Walk, talk and take it all in. M State will be hosting an Open House with tours, socializing and connection, prize giveaways, presentations by instructors and local employers, and more at the 快播成人鈥檚 Moorhead campus on Thursday, April 11 from 5-7 p.m.

Area high school seniors and other prospective students, along with their families, friends, and anyone else who鈥檚 interested, are invited to cure their curiosity about M State and gain a more in-depth understanding of what the 快播成人鈥檚 transportation, building trades, energy and public service programs are all about.

The 2024 Applied Technology Open House is a chance to walk the Moorhead campus鈥檚 halls and classrooms, talk with 快播成人 faculty, staff, students and local industry leaders, tour state-of-the-art technology labs, learn about M State鈥檚 academic programs and possible career pathways, watch and participate in tool and equipment demonstrations, win prizes and scholarships, and more.

Ten of M State鈥檚 Applied Technology programs will be spotlighted at the event: Automotive Service Technology, Construction Management, Criminal Justice, Design and Engineering Technology (Drafting), Diesel Equipment Technology, Electrical Technology, HVAC and Refrigeration, Plumbing Technology, PowerSports Technology and Surveying. It is free and open to the public, and snacks will be provided.

An M State work area with heavy equipment

鈥淭his is going to be a fun, informal and informative night for anyone who鈥檚 thinking about a career in public service or the trades, who wants to know more about our school and our programs, who wants to connect with local employers to learn about job opportunities, or all of the above and beyond,鈥 said Mark Bannatyne, Dean for the School of Applied Technology at M State. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about exploration, connection and networking; a time for prospective students and others to come in and roam around, immerse themselves in our campus and our programs, and discover all that M State and our Applied Technology programs have to offer.鈥

Demonstrations will be given by M State faculty and representatives from local businesses and organizations, including RDO Equipment, Titan Machinery, Precision Plumbing, Home Heating and Plumbing, Dakota Cat, Harley Davidson of Fargo, the Clay County Sheriff鈥檚 Office and several others. There will be demonstrations on (to name just a few): Heavy equipment operation and repairs; satellite-controlled farm tractors; how horsepower ratings are taken; operation and recharging of electric vehicles; how concrete samples are made and tested; 3D printing of models designed in CADD programs; different types of tools and equipment, and; patrol car features and operation.

In addition, short presentations on careers will be offered on a rotating basis, so attendees may participate in several throughout the evening, if they wish. Tours will be led by students from M State鈥檚 Applied Technology program clubs.

Attendees will be eligible to register to win prize giveaways during the event.

The event is being co-sponsored with the Association of Equipment Distributors. Visit the Applied Technology Open House event page on M State鈥檚 website to learn more.
